Last night Aldo Colombini was going to give a lecture in a small town in Belgium. But he didn't show up. His manager didn't inform Aldo that there was a lecture so he went shopping in Germany with his wife :D

His manager is going to make it up with us so Aldo will give his lecture next week. Let's just hope he shows up.

I'm also really looking forward to it. I own a couple of his dvd's and most of the stuff is self working, visual, easy magic but with a very good presentation.

Has anyone been to a lecture of Aldo recently ?

I saw one last year, or was it the year before?
One of the funniest and most entertaining lectures I have ever been to.
You're in for a treat :)

I went to his lecture last friday and I got to say 'Respect Aldo'. The things he showed us were practical, easy to perform and hardhitting, even from a magicians point of view.
I learned some great principles and some awesome cards tricks.
His wife, Rachel, who did part of the lecture taught us some cool magic as well.
I'm really glad I got the chance to see him in real life.

Aldo and Rachel are two funny spontanious people and aren't afraid to fill their lecture with jokes, puns, and sarcastic humor.

To say it in the words of Aldo

"John Wayne is the man!"
(people who saw his lecture will understand what i mean ;) )

I askes for both their signatures. At this moment I got 32 signatures of famous magicians. Only 20 to go for a full deck :)

Told ya it would be great, didn't I?! ;)
Did he show you the multiple-card reveal thing? can't rmember what it's called, but he finds about 12 people's cards in ever-increasingly complex and amazing ways! Think it's on a DVD called Fireworks? Anyone else know what it's called?

Fireworks is the name of the DVD and the routine, and a cracker it is as well!

Aldo's got some excellent material out, and one of his versions of Oil and Water is just beautiful, one I regularly perform.

Look out for something of mine on one of his upcoming DVDs as well

One of his versions being the operative word, considering he actually collects Oil & Water effects!

Any hints as to what your effect is, Renato?
Or would that be telling? :P

Very true Eoin! I recall the name now, it's Oil and Vinegar... look it up, it's a gem

It's tricky, any brief description I could give wouldn't really do justice to the effect! It's certainly not my most innovative effect, but it's a neat routine which plays well... oh and it uses cards, to narrow it down just a little :P
