How do you think they get this money? Making music is their day job, they get paid doing this by people buying their music. They don't have any kind of "making music" grant from the government

A lot of bands now give their music away for free, anyway, because they are well aware that people are just going to download it anyway if they want it, and who can blame them?
I'd download their albums for free in a heartbeat if only I could stand the sound of them.

You make a good point, but I can't see MagicalSmithy paying out to see bands live either
Downloading the odd song from time to time is fair enough, we all do it, but to deliberately refuse to buy any music at all because it's (illegally) available on youtube in its inferior quality? That's just being a dickI'd download their albums for free in a heartbeat if only I could stand the sound of them.
