Encyclopedia of Card Tricks (Hugard) Which do you recommend?

Postby neil_the_newbie » May 25th, '09, 21:19

Hi - I got my hands on a second hand copy of the Encyclopedia of Card Tricks and was wondering if anybody would recommend any of the best tricks to try from this book?
So you know what level I am at - I'm new to card magic but I've gone through the Royal Road dvd series (and will be constantly going back to it!) and have quite liked design for laughter, the 26th card, 3 cards across and the ambitious card.

Any suggestions on which are the best from this book. I especially like tricks that leave the spectator thinking "How?!"

Many thanks in advance.

There's such a wide range of tricks in there, at such a wide range of difficulty, that it really just depends on you. Which ones sound "wow" to you, and are at a level you can do?

The best thing to do with any new book is to work through it cover to cover, try out each one of the tricks and make a note of the ones that you like. When you've finished it, go back to the tricks that you've marked and see what you can do with them.
