Bobby's World

Postby EckoZero » May 28th, '09, 00:03

Whilst you were all playing Mornington Crescent, I was being taught (well, involved in) a game I've not played before called Bobby's World.

Does anyone else play?
Having excellent fun with this at work.

For those of you not in the know...

I am going to Bobby's World. What can I take?

The things you can take have a very specific criteria, the aim of the game is to guess the criteria through trial and error until you know. At that point, rather than blurting out that you know the criteria, keep playing until everyone has it.

Things that can be taken have to be followed by things that cannot be taken.

Example:

I can take buttons but not a shirt.

Who's next? :D

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

So, do I guess something like "could you take a cake?"

Or does it have to be a double guess, i.e. "could you take a pizza, but not a lasagne?"

Can you tell I'm hungry... :?

It does have to be a double guess.
And yes I had guessed you were hungry

And for the record... You can take a pizza but not a lasagne :D

I've run out of food-based theoretical questions, and given that it's late and I'm still hungry, I'm going to go and make myself a bacon sandwich instead of thinking up more.

Oh, wait, unless: is the rule that you can take something if it's either a button or a floor?

Love this game...

I can take a smile, but not an upside-down frown

You must be playing a different game Beardy. You can't take either.

You can take Metallica but not Megadeth though

oh yes! Different game - got the two mixed up...

Was thinking of a different shop...

At Bobby's World I can take a Ladie's boob but not a Man's hairy chest!

Can I just check - is this a word thing, or a physical properties thing? Because if it's the latter, that's pretty cool. But if it's the former, it's just a rehash of the "I'm in seat but not in set, ooh, what am I?" game, which don't like...

I think playing it online may make it a little more obvious than playing it out loud at work.

Still, if they can fill 4 pages of a game with no rules, I'll see if anyone is in on this one

Well, my go then. Because funnily enough, I too am on my way to Bobby's World. Only this time, I can take some soot but not coal.
