Great Customer Service

Postby Rufio » May 28th, '09, 23:15

Recently purchased a red deck and some flash cotton from www.freepostmagic.co.uk. Imagine my disappointment when I found a blue deck and some flash cord in the jiffy bag. Bah.

After a dry email expressing my discontent I returned the items and promptly received correct order. In jest I asked if they could throw in a TT and a deck of cards instead of postage being reimbursed.

Imagine my pleasant surprise when I was sent another jiffy bag containing a red deck, a TT and flash cotton!

Can't praise this level of service enough.

This level of customer service usually ensures repeat custom. If only other websites were the same. I have found that it doesn't hurt to be a bit cheeky and ask for stuff when things go wrong because the worst that can happen is they say "no".

Plus you've just told a busy magic forum about it. Money well spent on their part.

It's always nice (and good business sense) when you get good service from a shop. So many are just looking to take your money and then don't want to know afterwards.

I recently had this with VanishingInc. I placed an order for a download I didn't get and after an e-mail, it was very quickly put right. I then ordered some books from a seperate website, which didn't turn up for a few weeks. The seperate website, though, happened to be a second website for the co-owner of VanishingInc. He explained what happened, and then gave me two free downloads on VanishingInc as an apology.

How lovely!

What would have been infinitely preferable would be for them not to have screwed up in the first place.

I've ordered from magicbox more times than any other place and they regularly get something wrong with the order. Granted they always fix it immediately and compensate - which ensures my continued business - but I always think to myself "Fine, but why don't you just pay more attention the first time you pack my stuff up?!"
