Pattern Interupption...Derren Brown used it in his Dog Race-Track experiment...any other applications anyone can think of? In magic (preferably) or in day-to-day life?

sorry no clue. :?:

BIG HINT FOLLOWING:-
Age and Status in your Profile
To help other members form a more visual picture, it would be nice to include your age and 'magic status' as a small signoff in your profile.

We're standardising this to an additional bit of info in the Location panel in your profile... and the format is

(??A : ??S) where as the ??A = your age, and the ??S = your status, chosen from the list below...

EN = Eager Newbie
AH = Amateur Hobbyist
SH = Skilled Hobbyist
WP = Working Professional
CP = Career Professional

So, for example - your Location could be

"Kent, UK, (30:WP)", meaning you're a 30 year old working pro...

This is NOT obligatory, but may help during conversation!

Visting Professional Magicians - it would be much appreciated if you could please make yourselves known to one of the Moderators!

lol, yeah.

I am the man you are lusting after.
This is the pint you are wanting to pay for.
This isn't the car you want to put that ticket on.
This is the salary you want to pay me.

Still the best line by far though has to be Derrens, this is the dog you are looking for, makes me laugh more than it should that one :)

Seriously though, that's a tricky one, this line of control is often frowned upon by the people it doesn't work on and it only works if you understand why it works and have total faith in yourself etc.
Good luck with it and only try it on smaller people than yourself and those devoid of a sharp tongue :)

Patern interuption, here goes then, youll need to experiment to fully understand it.

First of all you have the Kinisthetic Sense: (feeling)(K)
Then the visual sense: (Seeing)(V)
And last of all the audio sense: (Hearing)(A)

These are the main senses which we all have, do you hear what im trying to say?
Can you see where im coming from?
Are you getting a grip on the subject?

Theres the same thing said three diferent ways, dempending what mode people are in: (K),(V) or (A) then you have a better chance of interupting their pattern.
To find out their mode listent to what they are saying and try and tuene in to the words they are using most in conversation, hearing, seeing, feeling.
Now you know the mode, you can develop raport between yourselves bu using the same modes they are using and copying posture and body movements, (not exactly though or you would be too obvious).
Now once you have gained raport do somehting completely diferent, change your mode abruptly to a difereent one to theirs by saying things in a diferent way and changing body posture, do this a couple of times in the space of 5 - 10 seconds and you should hopefully notice a blanc expression on this persons face if this has worked correctly. This is when they are on the edge of "Hypnosis" and ytou can say somehting and they wont hear it but it will register with their unconsious and they "MAY" carry out the suggestion.
This whole thing can be done in under a minute with practice, but when it doesnt work you just look daft.....ehem!

Try It!!
