Favorite Method of Bringing Card To Top

Postby Hardik » Jun 17th, '09, 14:10

I searched around but couldn't locate a thread for this. I apologize if something like this already exists.

Just to expand my knowledge in cardistry (is that a word ?? ), what is your favorite method of bringing a selected card to the top, or second from top.. Of course without shuffling.

Mine are :

Marlo Tilt - Ed Marlo
Cherry Control - Ricky Smith
Ego Slip - Daniel Garcia

Pool in :) and thanks in advance..

I use a few different methods - Vernon shift, snap deal on top (into lateral) followed by a charlier (which of course doesn't matter since the card's lateraled off, but the spec thinks the card's lost) and a top drop, tilt, break 'n' pass... I find it best to mix it up.

I'm not a big fan of any of the cull-type moves, e.g. Mike's Move from the Devil's Picturebook and side steals in general.

Cascade Control is one of my recent favourites. I don't know if it works the same with me, though, as I'm left handed and can't do an ordinary peek!

I only use the Side Steal Palm, and never use it to control it to the top.

I am naive enough to use the Pass :D. Lenoir would probably disagree :)

A Centre DL is my most used, and definitely the cleanest looking.

I occasionally use the Top Change.

Convincing Control is my all time favourite way to control a card, but it goes to the bottom and not the top.

Ed Marlo's Flexible Switch is another fine move.

90% of the time, classic pass. The other 10% could be pretty much anything.

Take care, Ian

I would use a classic pass most of the time.

Nothing fancy from me either. Long/short/wide/slick/rough cards make life so much easier...

double-undercut, overhand shuffle, and if I'm not feeling too self-conscious that day, the classic pass.

Classic pass, riffle pass, jog shuffle. I love and use them all.
