My name is craig.

Just thought I would drop by as my friend has passed on the link to me,
I have not done any magic perse' but love all aspects of mentalism. I have been studying various bits and pieces over the past 8 months or so and how it works, and I am always looking for pointers in the right direction.

Any help on where to start, and ideas on books and information would be greatly appreciated.

I have studied works on Derren Brown, and have read many articles on the subject. so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Chris,

As a fellow new mentalist I point you to Craig Brownings sticked post as well as Bobo's stickied post.

They are in essence a very good point to start. Also the great google will give you a great number of lists to compare against so you can buy things that fit within the most lists.

Also the search function... I love the search function. However it will be said so I might as well say it. Mentalism is probably the hardest discipline to jump into without having at least some basic grounding in a related discipline.

Be it Psychology, Magic/Illusions, or performing. You should have good experience in one of those fields otherwise the learning curve is pretty steep.

However if you are dedicated and its what you want welcome I have found everyone here to be exceptionally helpful and solid guiding forces.
