First top table try out

Postby greedoniz » Jun 30th, '09, 09:35

Hello

This is my first performance of my new set for the top table of a wedding:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M_HF9nv ... annel_page

any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated (I wont take too much offense as the paying client was very happy with my work).
I am aware that the card effect went wrong slightly (cut the first selection to the bottom instead of on top of the second) and the glass effect needs to be slowed down and savoured a bit more.

I wont be leaving this video up on youtube for long as it can be reached via my website and I dont wish for any potential clients to watch this and therefore spoil the surprise.
Camerawork is dodgy in places and after my set I do go on to do a spongeball routine

I don't normally have the patience to watch all the way through 'my performance' vids as they so often disappoint but this was a delightful exception! It started with a bang - literally - to grab the attention, the B&G were the focus and seemed to be really enjoying the routine which is what it's all about - cheers and well done :D !

That was very entertaining and professional. No cheque required.

Can I also add that the bottle of Wine is actually Blue nun and the Bride and Groom get to keep it.
So my audiences get high calibre fine wines with thier magic. I'm nowt if not classy

Cracking show! I see what you mean about the response to the bending wine glass. Most unnerving!

With the glass I was since told by the groom that a waitress clear away the glass and both the bride and groom were in the kitchen of the event looking for it. Apparently the lack of reaction was down to being weirded out by it....so they said in the email anyway

Hello Greedoniz

Although magic is not my native tongue, I did enjoy your performance. I find the majority of magic “tricks” are somewhat generic at most weddings (This is meant as no disrespect to yourself or other performers). However your handling seemed very natural on almost every occasion.

There was, on few occasions several weaker sleights and angles, but again this is down to the positioning of the cameraman and not you lack of skill (Plus any spectator would have seen it from the correct angle, in particular *David Penn’s Refraction effect which already looked bent as you started the effect)

Overall a fairly snappy, slick flowing routine.

Was keeping me nicely occupied whilst I enjoyed my lunch break.

Much love and energy

Yeah I'm with Mandrake, I don't usually come in here as its not my thing, but I thought I would humour you with the link from fb x

Mightily impressed dear sir, your even better when sober and the language much cleaner lol.

I couldn't see anything wrong wiht it but I'm not a cardie so... But yes really liked it and so did my kidlets, boss and an old lady, none of whom will be getting married ever so secrets are safe lol.

was that lisa riley getting wed?

anyway - i do have one suggestion, but it would/could have an inverse affect on the wine bottle thing...

blow up the balloon and start drawing on it "say what you see..." and as you're drawing the neck and cork, well it'll look a little rude...

you stop, and then say..."no...dont be so filthy...i want to give you both something..."

the pop! out comes the wine bottle....

apart from that, can you sort me out a bending wine glass please, i'll pay?!

Top class. I was really impressed.

Iain, it's a David Penn effect, refraction I think.

great minds do think alike. I did consider drawing a bottle on the balloon but wasn't sure whether it might give the game away or take too long. The other idea was to draw it on before hand to save tine

If one wishes a bent wine glass Lord Dunners ye shall have one. I will try and muster all my psychic powers and transfer my energies into a glass stem for you.

Any particular sort and gradient of bend?

Refraction.....pah!. The greedoniz uses his real psychic powers like many of the mentalists on here use theirs.

I have also figured out that by making the youtube vieo private after posting on here that it doesnt show up on my youtube page but can be accessed from here. So feel free to watch over and over again
