This Friday, lasting 24 hours. Make sure you time those magic orders right! Not sure how much disruption the strike will cause, though; RM reckon 90% of their staff will be at work.

bu**er. I've just ordered a load of Sempertex 160s for Sunday. They're usually sent out to arrive on Saturday.

We don't seem to be getting much around here anyway. I'm sitting here with my tongue hanging out waiting for a pay cheque, and all that came was Sainsbury's money-off vouchers.

Hadn't you heard? Tomo realised that balloons would get him far closer to vulnerable children than the power of suggestion...

I don't really understand the strike. If Royal Mail employees wanted to cause disruption and inconvenience, they should just continue their usual service. Giving the general public warning that this Friday the service will be especially cr@p, as opposed to the usual arrangement whereby we just have to take our chances, is actually an improvement :?

Ain't that the truth. Where we live, we often have days where we get no post at all. Looks like Friday will be just another one of those days.

Yup, there are days when parcels arrive at the sorting office, but don't make it out for delivery. I know this because the postie tells me that there's stuff that can be picked up every now and again when I see him doing his rounds.

It's not that the postie is negligant - he's not. He's a really good guy and works bloody hard.

The problem is that people have been leaving the postal service, but the Royal Mail haven't replaced them. So the remaining staff are being stretched further with larger rounds and longer days, and very often, there's just too much post to be delivered with the available people.

It's cost-cutting managerial scheitt that's to blame. Not the front-line postal workers. Although they're sure to be the ones that get in in the neck from tabloid hacks...

Well, the tramps weren't interested.

Actually, my style is becoming, I suppose you'd call it, "blue".
