Mirror Passage Illusion

Postby MagicBill » Aug 18th, '09, 22:28

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a UK supplier of this illusion? I may be looking to buy, even 2nd or 3rd hand!

Here's the illusion in performance:

Thanks for any feedback.

I'm not 100% positive, but I believe that was made by either Bill Smith or Wellington or at least, is based on their style of construction on a similar piece.

I'm not familiar with any UK builders but I would encourage you to keep your eye on TheMagicAuction.com in that they frequently list various type of Penetration Frames along this line.

I have a few methods I'd be willing to discuss privately, as well. Including a piece Harrary and I debated for a brief period; it's huge but gorgeous!

HINT: Look up Franz Harrary's 2-D Illusion... its a very tactile vanish in which he is sandwiched between two large spandex fabric sheets.

Feel free to drop me a PM, I might be able to at least give you some alternative solutions that you can make yourself and use until you are ready to make a more substantial investment.

I will point out one thing when it comes to any Major Illusion; they are not something one should just jump on. All of them have their problems and to some degree, dangers. They all require constant up-keep, storage, transport, insurance, etc. which means you must keep them working. Sadly though, effects that we like don't always play well in all venues for one reason or another... sometimes it's even because we can't seem to offer a solid enough presentation that supports the piece (I've seen that as well as done that... we all do) So think things over before making this kind of commitment; especially when it comes to any kind of delicate prop that can easily break.
