Retractable skate shoes - similar to heelies - help!

Postby Beardy » Aug 29th, '09, 14:58

Hey guys!

I am trying to find a pair of shoes with retractable wheels in the bottom - similar to those "heelie" things

However the difference is that they have to have wheels both at the front and back, in opposition to just the back

No luck as of yet :P

Can anybody help? It is a UK male size 9 - I just fancy a pair for University as my new house is a good way away, and it is downhill all the way there. My inline skates are way to big though to clump around university...I just fancy an easy pair :P

Cheers guys and gals!

Love

Chris

When Heelys were the rage with kids, I saw some adult-size ones like them. Never saw any with front and back wheels, though. ...Ah, here they are: Rollies. (Out of stock on this site, actually, but it has the best info.)

They're still only heel wheels, though. It looks like a pair of proper clip-on skates might be your answer.

I got some for my sister about 7 or 8 years ago, but that was the only time I ever saw them I'm afraid, they were just in the window of a shoe shop.

Claire Accesories used to stock them like 5 years ago one wheel front one wheel back quite bulky but they just looked like modern day skate shoes with folding wheels. You may be able to get them still ??????

I can't help you but I found exactly what you are looking for at a car boot sale a year ago. I bought them for my son, but they didn't fit him. However I have small feet and they fit me. I used them the next weekend at a clown gig. I was crossing a carpeted area of a foyer, and when I got to the tiled area I suddenly picked up speed and slammed into a wall at top speed. Twenty stone hitting a wall at speed caused quite a commotion, and I was bruised for days.
Hope you have better luck than I did.
