The girl was seen from outside going up and down horizontally over her bed.

The middle-aged male investigators decided it must be paranormal because they tried bouncing up and down on the bed to reach the window and couldn't. Proof, if anything, that youg girls tend to be lighter than grown men.

ah its the "old mans voice" that cracks me up.

Ah the Enfield Poltergiest. I was fascinated by that as a child and to be honest anything 'paranormal'. I actually amased quite a collection of books on the subject, including a first edition set of Man Myth and Magic which i inherited from my grandfather (anyone remember these?). The main guy who investigated the enfield poltergiest- Maurice Gross- was originally a bit of a skeptik. However a few months prior to his investigations into the enfield case he sadly lost his daughter in a nasty car accident. He so wanted to believe in life after death after this, that it quite possibly clouded his judgemet in his opinion of what was going on. Very sad indeed

I'm of the opinion that Grosse had a hand in a lot of the phenomena that took place in that house, either for personal reasons, or for political reasons. On the latter front, he was keen to see the society for psychical research to do more work in the field, and "elevated" the Enfield case to gain credence for that viewpoint.

then the only thing left is the method.

I think your right Mr Grue. In one of the photos of the alleged levitations im convinced he is actually holding her up, rather than pulling her down as the article suggests
