Online shopping

Postby MagicIain » Apr 21st, '04, 11:54

Was wondering if there's a directory available with details of magic shops available online. We all use our favourites I know, but was wondering if there's a definitive directory on the forums, or anywhere else for that matter.

Just a thought  , in the interest of competition and price comparisons.

Cheers mate.

I knew I'd seen it somewhere recently.

How about a review section for the shops we use? What does everyone reckon? Maybe addressing things like stock issues, delivery times, prices (obviously), contactability (is that a real word?) etc etc etc.

:?: :?: :?:

I dunno about the riview things, its all really a matte pf personal oppinion, ive known people who have had excelent service from a shop, and another person who has unfortunately being unhappy with the service of the same shop. At the end of the day (it gets dark) but really most of the top online magic shops are the one we all know. Heres who i use anyway.

Magicbox (the Shop) Sometimes i just cant wait.

On the outside this looks like a good idea - after all, we review tricks and effects so why not the shops? Sadly, postings and flamings on other forums have shown that some people just can't wait to be extremely nasty - even if their instance of 'bad' service was a long time ago. To a certain extent this is understandable but some of the comments seen in the past have been so near libelous that it's risky all round - the Forum owner could be in deep doo-doo if anyone wanted to take legal issue with detrimental comments.

One of the downsides of the technology we use is that some folks think it's OK to be obscenely insulting just because they are remote from the person or shop being criticised and it takes a fair bit of moderating and checking to spot and remove this dross as well.

Shame really as we could all use tips and hints about sources of supply - even if they are negative at times!
