What are some good books on Seances.

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Speaking of Tarot's. What are also some good books to get on them? I've got the Ron Martin book on my list and I think the other book you mentioned awhile ago. Modern Magik.

Have a look at this thread http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic20433.php - lots of suggestions there on many books as well as the Black Hart book which is unbelievably excellent!

Do bear in mind that Modern Magic is on the Kabala not tricks

Ron's book is a "must" for anyone thinking about working as a Reader, not just Taroists but most especially them... I'd suggest his other books as well in that they are all based on "real world work" vs. theory or "theatrical" approach.

I encourage every one of my students to get the Eileen Connolly books and work through them in order. If you follow the guidelines correctly her books will envelope about 5+ years of solid study... if you are being honest with your absorption of the material, etc. Just type in her name at Amazon and you'll find them. I don't know of many professional Readers worth their grain who (in the States at least) don't have at least the first two of this four book series close at hand all the time.

Memory serving me right Brother Shadow has some wonderful writings on Tarot that would be well worth hunting down. Start by contacting Philemon Vanderbeck re: OORT a now defunked newsletter & book series about the art of being a Reader. I know that some of the Shadow material is there and Philemon may be able to point you to how to get the related materials. I can assure you however, it is a most excellent method for learning how to become an INTUITIVE Reader.

Though it is not item specific, I will again encourage you to check out the works of John Riggs when it comes to this topic. I was just reviewing some of his notes last night and it still blows my mind some of the things he's "discovered" when it comes to this one skill.
