David Blaine - what is magic?

Postby IAIN » Sep 16th, '09, 21:58

its on channel 4's 4oD now...

for the main, it was enjoyable - if i had to give a negative, was too much repitition of the same trick...and quite a bit of pre-stooging certain "things"...

but very entertaining :D

i liked the dancing coin, the diminishing deck and good to see kimbo slice too...

Fool perhaps, but he's hard as a coffin nail if nothing else.

I dunno... I'm not really into Blaine but it was kind of enjoyable.

it was OK.

I watched it with a layperson friend and my gf. She fell asleep, he loved it.

I found it all to samey. How many times did he have a card selected and signed? Seemed like the same trick over and over.

And he still hasn't learnt to actually say more than "Here...look..." as his patter.

I quite liked it, what was the trick called where he draws cross's on the palms and moves them under the coin? I remember seeing it before but forgot the name.

Yeah, the DL switch got a bit samey after a while. I think I must have seen him do that about fifty times in all.

Yeah - it's Dan White's COMPRESSION I believe. Not out commercially yet I don't think; although I have seen Dynamo use it so it must be 'around'.

Just got round to watching the David Blaine prog' and thoroughly enjoyed it. Could anyone tell me the name of the trick he did where the spec's card ended up as a book of matches in another spec's hand, and is it on the market. :)
