Bikes card design

Postby rcarlsen » Sep 30th, '09, 06:49

Hello

I am looking for vectorbased / high quality design of the bikes card, all values. Does anyone have this? I once got this, but lost the file, so it must be someone having it. Also, does anyone know if there is some kind of copyright using these designs? I will not be duplicating and producing a deck of cards, just on print/online.

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure there is copyright on the more individualised cards, namely the Ace of Spades, court cards, and jokers. The basic spot cards aren't really copyrightable.

Yes, the back design would have been designed by somebody, so copyright applies there.

Well excuse me for being an idiot then, or one of those "cool kids that thinks piracy is fine". I honestly dont wanna go into a piracy discussion here, as I was just looking for the designs which I now understand is protected.

daleshrimpton:
Thanks for being constructive. What do you mean by "self adhesive" ?

They sell thin stickers, with the bicycle design in Dealers, to atatch to plain tuch cases. But they have other uses.
For example, there really good at hiding the evidence if you want to make a flap.
And if you stick it to teh back of a piece of Carbon paper, it creates a very usefull imp surface.

Ive seen them on several dealers web sites.

Not quite sure what you want the designs for, but if you're just making up a gimmick for your own use, nobody's going to get bent out of shape about copyright. Lawyers only start to sit up and take notice when you sell things (or, nowadays, share files).

A decent scanner should be OK for high-res copies, I would think.

The font (TrueType) can be downloaded here : http://www.haroldsfonts.com/cardchars.html

I don't know of the vector set, but I would be very interested in getting a copy if it's out there.

I'll have a look on my other hard drive later, as I think I have a set of PhotoShop brushes for Bicycle cards.

Cardshark created his own vector graphics. I believe it took a lot of work and I doubt such a thing would be made generally available for free. He'll use his graphics to create you some wonderful cards/gimmicks, though. If you just want stuff for yourself, he's probably a sensible bet.
