Splitting The Difference????

Postby Ed Wood » Oct 2nd, '09, 22:11

I have come across a reference in one of my own notebooks to a principal or possibly an entire effect called Splitting The Difference. It appear to have similarities to an OOTW principal. My reference mentions it was detailed in an old edition of Genii. Problem is, I can't for the life of me remember what I was writing about and how I came by this information. Anyway, it seems quite interesting and may help me with a problem I am currently having with an effect
Anyone know anything about this effect? Whether it is an OOTW like principal? Whether it is purely a card trick and where I can find some more information about it?

Thanks for that. I'll see if I can back order that edition of Genii.

"Splitting the Difference" is admittedly an effect.
But more than that it is an approach to the OOTW plot using the Gilbreath Principle as a tool to achieve the final r/b-split under seemingly impossible and fair conditions (the participant is mixing and cutting the deck by himself).

Having regard to a appropriate reticence feel free to ask further generally questions.

Thanks for the info. Fact is OOTW is the only card effect I perform when working and I'm always open to new (or not so new methods) although rarely find anything that beats the method I use. Does this method require the deck (not that I use playing cards) to be stacked? If not it is definately something I will explore further.

I guess the answer is lies in my reference of the utilisation of the Gilbreath Principle.
Using this principle there are of cause prerequisites which have to be created.
