Stage Competition

Postby Ian The Magic-Ian » Oct 25th, '09, 04:49

Hello Everyone!

I must warn this is a rather indulgent post but... oh well.

This November I'm performing in a stage competition.

I'm really excited because it's a story telling routine and I don't do much of that.

This is the first routine of it's kind that I have performed. It's about a man who visit's the a the Philippines and falls ill in the jungle. Hunters from a nearby village find him and bring him back where he is healed (see potions below)

Then the story takes some irrelevant twists and it concludes with a bizarre routine much like this (see the cup with the chips)

It's very cool looking and like I said it's just a rather indulgent post but I'm so excited that it all came together as expected I needed to post pictures as well.

Nice. You do need to age the hinges on the box a bit, and make the over all appearence of the box a bit grubby and battered.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

I think we have a young Christian Chelman in the making! Best of luck Ian!

Thanks!

I didn't make the box, found that at a thrift store for $2 and couldn't pass it up.

I did make the shrunken head and wooden chips though.

I didn't even think about the hinges... Thanks Dale.

Not 100% sure if it will be filmed but I will do my best; don't expect it though. :D

Rather ticked at the moment because I had to remove the beginning of the act as a result of time constraints in the competition. :x

Thanks for everyone's nice comments. Going to a convention in 17 hours and T-minus 30 hours until show time. Wish me luck, and first place.
