I always go for rough and smooth decks. Matt varnish on gaffe decks and gloss varnish spray on straight decks. Makes it nice and easy for switching in pockets and easy to reach in and grab the one I want.

Make sure you have a set place where the particular prop you intend to use will always be put when you go out with stuff, when your working etc.

For example, my omni deck will always go in left jacket pocket, double facers on the inside ticket pocket, deck always goes in the right jacket pocket with the sponges etc...

Reherse your effects wearing the type of clothes your most likely to perform in, and practice taking the prop from your pocket and putting it back in the same place

You've maybe got your change and other bits and pieces in your pocket and you'd also like to carry a TT, maybe a sponge ball or dye tube too in the hope that an opportunity will present itself.
I'm thinking of maybe stitching some little holders or dividers into my trouser pockets but I don't want to re-invent the wheel. Any advice gratefully received.

For cards I saw a lovely leather American double Gun belt designed perfectely for storing bikes under your jacket.

Thanks for the suggestion. The ASSASSIN'S POUCH solution could work well for some occasions. I'm thinking about it!

I've got an Assassin's Pouch. It's very nice, though pricey when you consider what it actually is. And it could do with being a bit bigger.

If you don't need the IT eyelet and Sharpie holder, you might find something very similar and cheaper in the form of a pouch-type camera case.

I use a Stealth Assassin wallet as my everyday wallet. Loaded with some business cards, colour monte cards and Extreme Burn.

Add a regular deck of cards and a marker pen, I have got upwards of 40 minutes of 'impromptu' material on me at all times....

Please note: if you buy an assassins pouch and wear it out you will look like a complete numpty.
I did try it out for myself and ended up in casualty with a severe case of shame.

The assassin pouch is useful however for gathering several of your favourite props and throwing them in your bag or close up case....just don't wear it

Aw, it ain't that bad, at least not if you're going casual in something like a T-shirt and jeans. No worse than having a camera or iPod case hanging on your belt.

Then again, I have no dress sense. So don't take my advice on things sartorial.

That reminds me I used to use a camera pouch that clipped onto my belt. It would store a deck of cards and it had a front pocket that I could store small props in. With a little bit of adjusting you could make a TT loader.

Here is a pic:

I personally think that there is nothing more unnatural than having a little case on your belt, not just in magic but in everything.

Its fiddly having to work from your trouser belts, ditches and loads are unnatural, they get in the way, and make you look like your wearing a colostomy bag.

I also cant understand all these blokes who insist on wearing their posessions on their belt (mobile phone etc). You are saving yourself a matter a few centimetres of reach by putting things on your belt instead of in your pocket, not to mention it being a lot more fiddly putting things onto your belt

There is a reason why pockets were invented.

Hands up all those who wear their mobile phone on their belt....
