Why oh why oh why did you have to go with someone linked to Carphone W***ehouse?!

Those muppets cause no end of trouble when customers call us because they were sold something that turned out to be the complete polar opposite. The morons call up pretending to be customers to try and avoid refunds and therefore missing out on commissions.

(And Chimps4U aren't much better, at least they don't lie to us as much)

Very nice. A word of caution: remember it's a 24 month contract! Which means if an amazing phone comes out next Christmas, you'll still have a year to go with your phone for which the novelty just might have worn off, and also you better either have insurance or be confident that you are not going to lose or break your phone in 2 years. It seems most bits of technology aren't designed to last that long these days... :?

The bottom of the page says...

If that's "Partnered", then that's "Corporation Incest" right there...

I think you mean "Samsung". ;)

My current mobile has lasted me nearly four years (Samsung D900) and apart from the battery not lasting as long as it used to, it still works fine. I'll be getting an iPhone 3GS in the new year; a colleague says I should hold out for a few more months because he reckons Apple will be releasing a new model in the summer/autumn of 2010. If you think like that, you'll never get a phone because you'll always be waiting for the next snazzy phone with more bells and whistles than the last model. Technology is moving at such a fast pace that you just need to settle on a phone you like and get it. Take out the 18/24 month contract and be done with it or you'll be waiting a few more months, just in case something bigger and better comes along. In the meantime, you're still using that old brick that you've had for yonks because you were waiting for something bigger and better to come along.... And so it goes on.

Always get phone insurance. Mine blew up on Saturday night, I had a brand new one at 10am Monday. The day you don't have cover is the day your shiney new phone gets lost/damaged/stolen. Check your home insurance for excess and what exactly you get for your loss.

Take care, Ian
