I find that when I hold a deck in mechanic's there is a good 3mm gap between the tip of my thumb and the tip of my index finger.

Consequently, when I try the LG Windmill, while I can do the first part (lift off the top card with the index and middle finger) I can't easily transfer the hold from my index finger down to my middle finger while I slip the top card down with my thumb.

Is this move really only suitable for people with longer fingers, or should I persist?

I find that if I do the move with half a deck, I'm OK, just the normal fumbling of the inexperienced. I realise that

Any tips?

Thanks

I've no idea what you just said, but if you can do it with half a deck, maybe practice while adding a few cards and slowly building up to some full deck action.

I cant do this move either and I have the hands of a small child.

I would give them back but it's all incriminating evidence at the end of the day.

I use this move all the time, i struggled to grasp it for a while and give up. Then i had another go and got it, now i use it all the time, its well worth learning.

I spent a while in front of the telly watching a couple of films whilst doing the move. Like everything its just a knack and when you do it once or twice you will find it's not to difficult.
