Source for OTT card reveals?

Postby pcwells » Nov 18th, '09, 21:29

Hi all!

I normally steer clear of fancy card flourishes, but I've decided that a routine I'm working on would be all the more absurd if I threw in a load of OTT flashy card reveals.

Is there a one-stop source for this kind of nonsense that anyone can recommend?

Ta muchly,

Pete

Trilogy by dan and dave buck is handy for over the top very visual (but also knuckle busting) flourishes.

The Trilogy is all flashy and very difficult, but the flourishes are mostly packet stylee and not suited for a single card reveal.

Are you looking for things like Daryl's Hot Shot Cut? That's a neat way of revealing a selection, Blaine did it on one of his specials too using two aces to catch the card as it flew through the air. It's quite easy to master.

Daniel Madison has a couple of flourishes that end in reveals such as 4 Sybil.

There is a particularly good section on the DVD that covers the likes of the hot shot cut etc. It's called 'the basics' or something along those lines.

Exactly. I'm after spins, flips and other silly stuff that makes 'and is this your card' look unnecessarily flashy (as opposed to the Dan and Dave stuff that makes it look like self indulgent master baiting).

The end to Lennart Green's set contains some ridiculous reveals, I'd take a look at his TED talk.

Why not just giving the card flick a go? That's one of the easiest things in world and looks pretty flashy and impressive in my opinion... (If done well)
