Review: Self-tying Shoelace

Self Tying Shoelace

The trick behind this is very clever, cleverer than you might think at first. It uses misdirection, physics and trickery all together, to create a very real effect.

The Effect:

Walk down a busy street with your shoe untied. Complete strangers will INTERRUPT you to tell you your shoe is untied EVERY FEW SECONDS.
You didn't ask for the attention. It just happened... But being born to perform is being ready when the spotlight finds you.

So you smile, make eye contact with your spectators, and give your foot a little shake. Your shoelaces start to snap back and forth, criss-crossing... If you could move your foot in just the right way you might actually be able to tie your shoelaces without even touching them...

You give your foot another little shake and this time you get it just right. To the astonishment of your spectators, YOUR SHOELACES visually TIE THEMSELVES! The best part is, it's a REAL knot and bow! Your spectators can inspect till their hearts are content!

===============================

The method is very clever. And very, very few guess how it is done. To those who do guess how it is done, you can simply "disprove" their theory by showing them how clean you are. And how there are no gimmicks anywhere.

People WILL be amazed by this, particularly girls (as if that needed saying...). I now have three special items that I carry on me all the time, this and two forms of loops.
It is SERIOUSLY sensation. Whenever I tell someone I do magic the words you can bet you will hear are: "Show us a trick".

Then I can now bend down, untie my shoelaces and perform a small illusion that will blow their socks off. The best thing is when they try and guess the secret. So far I have had:

"Theres something in your shoe"
And I take my shoe off and show them.

"Theres something in your pants"
So I pull my trouser leg right up, almost all the way to my boxers, to show there is nothing there.

"Its magnets"
To which I give them a blank stare and ask just how exactly it could be magnets... -.-

This has been given great reviews, and quite rightly. It is the perfect magic trick. The DVD is short, perhaps half an hour long, but it teaches you everything you need to know and multiple ways of doing it. It also mentions laces changing color and the like.

This trick has no real flaws. It is amazing to see, highly visual, easy to master, great value for money and crucially very hard to work out.

Overall: 10/10

I can delete it if you wish (at least I can try), but I hoped it might be helpful. From now on I shall only review new items.

Even better, please re-post your Review in the same thread as the earlier review, that way all the info is kept in one thread and helps to compare differing, but equally valid, opinions.

You would not believe the amount of paint I have in my attic. All I need now is a sheepdog and I can start selling the flippin' stuff.

Sorry, went off on a bit of a tangent there. Don't worry about it.

While I'm on, check out the Google TM search. It's far preferable to the standard search function and usually returns far more relevant results, some of which may not appear in the review indexes. ;)
