If someone were to be a bit colour blind in each eye would they be able to see the 3D without glasses?

Assuming they were colour blind in the right colours of course...

The short answer is no, although I can see your thinking

The long answer is that as you say you'd have to be yellow/blue (or more specifically amber/cyan) colour blind, which doesn't exist. But if for a moment we pretend it did exist, being colour blind doesn't mean you can't see certain colours, it just means you struggle to tell the different between certain shades of certain colours, so at worse it'd not work as well as expected

The bigger problem is the distance (my tv is at the wrong distance so it didn't work well for me) and having a weak eye (I can't remember who, but a celebrity I follow on twitter mentioned he has a weak eye so it looks more blue than yellow for him)

The glasses I got from that well known supermarket all seemed to be too dark in the right lens, the blue one. One or two other peeps I spoke to had the same thing so I guess it wasn't just me and my aging eyeballs!

Yeah, I think it was Charlie Brooker who said that he had more success using another random pair that were a bit lighter

I tried watching with and without glasses as well as the 3D things - it was very much the same, there again I only need glasses for reading so TV isn't a problem - until they put a lot of text on the screen!
