I want to put two cards face-up together in the pack. Ribbon-spread the deck to show them together, then - under the cover of closing the spread - get a break between the two face-up cards.
Can anyone think of a clean way to do this? The only way I can think of is to injog one of the two face-up cards - under the pretence of showing that the two cards are together - and then forming the break with this. However - I reckon this looks pretty suspicious. Any ideas for a better way to do it?

My favourite is a short-cornered card, which will allow you to close the spread and riffle straight to the card and obtain an almost automatic break.
