Dai Vernon's Wand Spin Vanish & Flourishes

Postby Chandler » Dec 4th, '09, 01:35

Could anyone let me know where I can get hold of a book with this in?

Also, any recomendations for where to get a decently balanced wand and any tutorials for wand spins ... I can do a flourishes with juggling clubs, but they don't translate too well to the smaller wand ....

any help appreciated.

Hi Chandler;

it's explained in Volume 2 of Michael Ammar Cups and Ball DVD.

It's also explained in the Magic of Michael Ammar. I teach the Vernon/silent Mora spin and two other wand spins on the Virtual Sessions.

Take care, Ian

If you're into juggling it would be worth having a chat with a decent devil sticker!

It's also in "The Dai Vernon Book of Magic," which is also available as part of "The Essential Dai Vernon" by L&L Publishing.

Hi Chandler. As has been mentioned the Vernon Wand Spin and the Vernon/Mora Vanish are both in the Magic of Michael Ammar and The Complete Cups and Balls (vol 2), the drummers spin is also taught on vol 2 ( a great spin as you can have a ball finger pa***d while spinning the wand). While they are also explained in The Dai Vernon Book of Magic, the description is partly incorrect, due to the fact that Vernon didnt personally teach it to Lewis Ganson who wrote the book. There are plenty of wands available from most magic shops/sites and most are designed now with the wand spin in mind. I personally use (and recommend) Michael Ammars Mercury Wand. This is an aluminium rod with a black rubber sleeve and a nice weight, it looks very traditional. jim
