One of my favourite artists is Cardiacs, and their frontman Tim Smith said "There's nothing wrong with any kind of band in the world. Whatever they play. Musical prejudice is the worst thing in the world."
I couldn't disagree more.

The internet is the new medium of power and although it has been spoken about this being the case for awhile, it takes situations like this to really prove it.
The majority of the modern media have turned their back on the people and so the people have found an alternative source to hear themselves heard. I think that when you take a step back and see what was achieved it is astounding that anything was able to overcome the colossal media machine of the X Factor.
It feels me with a sense of hope that perhaps there are still people out there that think for themselves, even if many of the people that got RATM to #1 were probably just bandwagon jumpers/sheep themselves, at least they made the consious effort to choose.
