Hello to all

Postby Darkness24 » Dec 16th, '09, 22:51

Hello my name is Eric, I am 19 years of age and am an Eger Newcomer. I had always been facinated with magic, and had always done little card tricks for my family. Well that changed once I hit about 16, I just grew out of it. Well a few days ago I was at the mall I work at in san francisco and I saw this guy doing magic.

Well that was it for me, I was instantly sucked into the world of magic once again and am here as a means to further my knowledge of the unexplained. I'm not too sure what I'm really into yet, close-up, stage, cards, etc... But I have been doing the simple levitation trick and have been getting quite the looks. (I even got a free ice cream from hagendaz for doing it for the manager).

Well that's pretty much it in a nutshell. I would really appreciate any information on where to look so I can figure what I'm really into and just dive right in. I've been on the board for a couple of days and finally decided to register and start contributing.

If you have any questions for me, don't hesitate to ask because I would love to share.

Hi Eric, glad you joined up!

If you're interested in what to start looking at, basic stuff to get is,

    Bobo - Modern Coin Magic
Hugard and Braue - Royal Road To Card Magic
Corinda - 13 Steps to Mentalism
Mark Wilson - Complete Course in Magic (this one is good for an overview the others are obviously more specific in what they teach)

There's plenty of info about these books around TM if you use the search function!

Greetings, my friend. I would suggest only one thing to you. Read as many books of tricks as you wish but, if you don't believe in true magic or understand what it is, then you will never feel that you have suceeded. Learn true magic - that is my only advice and it is meant with affection. Talk to this old fool if you wish! Much love. Kryzal x

Hey thank you to everyone that replied, thank you for the information, and thank you for welcoming me so openly. I hope to become a good magician one day. Too bad that I live in Cali because I won't be able to meet any of you.
