does every television programe on every chanel insist on having the words SLUM & DOG some where in the title?

It's begining to get on my fricken wick. :)

(mind you, i've Got to say i Hated the film, and I'm of the oppinion that Danny Boyle is a highly over rated director)

It strikes me, that if the people who make these shows, just gave the cash to the people that they are filming, instead of trying to boost their own profile by filming destitutes.. it would help loads of them get out of the ruddy slums.

It's a bandwagon I tells yer, a bandwagon!

It's as lazy as putting "The People's" in front of every inconsequential thing to make it sound culturally significant but somehow accessible. One of these days someone will say "The People's People" and humanity will disappear up its own tailpipe in a self referential recursive loop. Then where will we all be, eh?

In each other's tailpipes, I would imagine.

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

The word 'Essential' is also overused - Essential Oils, Essential Information, Essential Vitamins and rarely are they anything of the sort, just important or perhaps relevant. The shenanigans of advertisers have really pushed us into to these unnecessary extremes of verbosity.

Dont get me started on over used words, in advertising.

ORGANIC.
Why is organic veg, usualy packed into plastic bags?

If IAMS can keep a cat alive for years longer, why dont IAMS make people food?

As you say....

Essential... In conjunction with music. As in the Essential Nat King Cole collection... Trust me, I admire the guy, But if i never listened to him again, Its unlikely I'd drop down dead.

( mainy because Im nibbling in IAMS as i type)

I'm starting to hate the prefix 'pre'
Its starting to pre-appear all over the place.
pre-register for an event, why not just register for it ?
pre-order an interval drink, why not just order one ?
pre-book a flight, why not just book it ?

Essential equals "the essence of" so the essential Nat King Cole would constitute a collection of tracks that give you the essence of him.

Pre-prepare is my most hated use of the pre prefix.

And essential oils are "essential", just not in the "necessary" way.

Not a lot of things are essential. Some amino acids and fatty acids can't be synthesized by the body so must be included in your diet. An over hyped, over styled band's new single is anything but essential.

..... unless you are a teenage girl then anything to do with your fave band is essential, as are shoes, clothes, make up, hair straighteners....
