BEST Self Working Card Trick with No Setup / Gimmicks

Postby jassu » Feb 9th, '10, 19:16

I Know only "Devastation" and "4,5,6 Paket Trick" which seems similar. Are they any other ones that are amazing and requiered NO SETUP or any other Gimmicks. Or Card Tricks which are completely handled by the Spectator ?

Thank you for your Attention !

Don'y know those ones you mentioned but see you posted same question elsewhere.

I am a huge fan of the Mind Power deck. Though it doesn't fit your handling by the spectator requirement, it's totally self working and needs no set-up. You can however show the cards and it looks like a normal deck.

The one trick I always have on me.

Aldo Columbini has a few DVDs on the subject of Impromtu Card Magic.

Some of the routines are great.

Others are so-so IMHO.

But then, I've never felt comfortable with reverse faros, weird down-under counts and the like. They get in the way, have no logical purpose and scream 'self-working mathematical bullpoop!'.

That said, I'm well aware that other people can sell that kind of bullpoop much better than I can.

Each DVD has some corkers on it though. But I'll leave it to you and your own tastes and sensibilities to decide where those corkers are.

My favourite has got to be 'out of this world'

The handling that I use can be done impromptu with a borrowed deck and the spectator can even shuffle them before handing them over.

True.

Ambitious Card is another highly popular one that requires no setup.

Same with Card To Wallet, providing you have the appropriate wallet on your person.

But I'd hardly call them self-working.

Hi Jassu. In my opinion one of the best self workers is ''Do as I Do'', and there are quite a few versions of this in print. Two decks, no setup and not a move in sight. With a good presentation it can be a cracking effect. :)

I was about to say that!

Get yourself a copy of Hugard's "The Encyclopedia of Card Tricks" - that'll keep you busy for a while. It has a whole chapter on "Do As I Do", but I'd suggest sticking to the simplest version - as Jim says, it's a stunner.

Oo. I think it's Cassidy that has a great move for Do as I Do involving an elastic band, and a "tossed out" stylee.

Agreed, Impossible is a beautiful effect that really is...well, impossible.

mirraskill?

( no set up as such, can be done with a borrowed deck.)

out of this world?

( several versions are 100% impromtu )

The Circus trick?

Three burgulars?

Geminii twins?

there are thousands of others, which you can find in the fulves self working card books. just like Iain said :)
