I'm off on a much needed vacation for a week. We're going to a guest farm in the Karoo. They have babysitters! :D :D
Last time I was there i ended up doing a magic show for a kid's who's birthday it was, so this time I'm going prepared - just in case. I also have a supply of my own forks and spoons
Anyway - looking forward to doing some reading and going for long walks in the mountain. In case you were going to ask - Mr Squishy is house sitting while we're away
Speak to you in a week and a bit..

Three kids were arguing in the school playground. It was a very posh school where the only music allowed was classical. The kids wanted to play at being their favourite composers and just couldn't agree about it. The first one said, 'I choose to be Beethoven'. The second one said, 'I wish to be Mozart'. And the third one said, 'I'll be Bach'. (Sorry. Very sorry. I'll leave quietly by the side door)

happy hols

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..

I'm back :)

We had a really good holiday - although I'm still a little stiff from horse riding. I also played tennis for the first time in about 15 years. That's ok cos my wife, whom I was playing against had never played before. I still have a relatively powerful serve, but way innaccurate - although my wife will say it's dead accurate cos she got in the way of the ball a few times too many :?

I got to perform quite a lot. On the way there and back I did a couple of 'impromptu' performances at the petrol stations and fast food joints we stopped at. At the farm there were a group of 10 yr olds. The first two evenings I did some tricks for them they were amazed. After that, though it got harder cos they were hounding me for explanations for the rest of the week. I heard some interesting explanations - like the way I restored a broken rubber band was because it had tiny magnets inside. Anyway..

I did a really successful metal bending routine for the adults and there was a really skeptical guy there who really freaked when a fork bent in his hands. I did a whole 'impromptu' show for two kids who had just arrived and were battling to fit in with the other kids. I then did a whole lot of stuff for their parents as well.
As you can see I had fun :)
