I saw a most charming film last night - called Bagdad Cafe. Anyone else seen it?

I wasn't convinced at the start, but once it got underway, it actually became quite enchanting - with a real feel good factor that blossomed the longer the film went on - something it achieved with out being at all schmoltzy.

It even had lots of magic in it...

oooh now there's a movie I haven't watched in a long time... It used to be one of my favorites. A very quirky film and as you quite rightly point out Mr B, full of magic...

Was that on last night? Its a lovely gentle movie, that spawned an american comedy series. Alas, they took out the magic, and replaced the German lady who played Jasmin in the movie with Jean Stapleton, and shoved Whoopie Goldberg in as Brenda.

It didnt last long, as it was axed after one series.

Incidently, a google shows that Magic coaches were Walter Kruska, and Harlod Voit . Walter seems to have done little else but this movie, however Harold appears to be a dealer, inventor and maker of fantastic props in Germany. ( Including the original, and best Funken ring)
