fading cards

hi there

whats the best way to fade the faces of playing cards would leaving them in the sun for 4 months be the best way or not or can anyone sugest a faster way.

I left some cards on a radiator and they went all shriveled and bent.
I think some abrasive would be best, such as wire wool.

fading as in making the pips appear faint, or aging a card as in looking old?

for the first - just use an eraser...for the second, just buy real old ones from ebay, or those 1800s bike replicas...

I don't like to rush these things and step one needs to be rigorously followed and practiced until I get it right... sadly I keep slipping off the comfy chair.....
