When I saw the title of this post I thought Harris was getting a round in!

Childhood memories? Smelly red carbolic soap, cold water and toilet paper like sandpaper at school, being able to buy things where the price was one shilling, threepence three farthings, thinking we were well off because we had a 405 line black and white 12" TV, only one channel but nothing being broadcast between 6 and 7pm, closedown with little white dot at about 11pm right after the Epilogue, The Grove Family and The Appleyards being the hottest soaps on the box... ah those were the days.....

Ah... I also remember Wagon Wheels the size of tractor tyres, Mars Bars which were enormous, Spangles, Bassett's Sherbet Dabs, Smith's Crisps wih the salt in a twist of blue paper, liquorice bootlaces which went on forever and an endless supply of home made apple pies...

(Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
brown paper packages tied up with strings,
these are a few of my favorite things)

Crikey, how the heck did he remember that lot? Brilliant though. Lots of memories there. Thanks Mandrake :D

Funnily enough, guess what my wife bought me last week for my birthday? A 2kg box of Poor Bens. Woohoo!!! Loved em as a kid, still do.

I am the Hole Tempting Champion! Look at my avatar for proof ;-)
