Southern England magic Convention

Postby danata » Jun 3rd, '10, 09:41

Well (against my advice!) it looks as though the "Unstoppable Collin Richardson" is back again with another Southern England Magic Convention. This time to be held in my hometown of Bournemouth!

The date has been set for the 30th Jan 2011.

I'm sure more details will follow.

Best Wishes

The proximity to the Blackpool Convention, the aggro over the last SEMC vs Derek Lever's ruling over exhibitors who support both etc... It's all in the old threads somewhere and it's a very sorry tale. I can't help but think a bit of common sense this time round would have picked a different date and thus avoided all such problems in one stroke. It's almost as though another confrontation is being encouraged... I just hope I'm wrong.

Why do I fear that Harry Hill may be lurking somewhere in the background, just waiting to leap out, and yell.........

Ah yes - I do remember the threads from last time around.... Hmmmmm common sense does seem to be rather conspicuous by its absence here...

Rather then re-tread over old ground I think that we should wait and see what official information is released before commenting.

Last time around there was a major barrage on most of the forums that spilled over into the National news.

If anyone want to make enquiries as to how much the venue hire is in January vs June, that might point to why it's the same date again.

Southern England Magic Convention

Postby danata » Jan 15th, '11, 18:03

Another "Surprise" has been added to the Southern England Magic Convention line up!

Not officially to be revealed for a few more days, but I can say that it's an act that has never appeared in a Gala Show before!

The act in question has been approached by other convention organisers, with regard to appearing in their Gala Shows, but because of other work commitments they were never available.............

It's now a very strong lineup for the show, & a good mix of dealers & lecturers during the day.
Also in addition to the dealers, there is going to be a "Magic Flea Market!" a room designated for the sale of 2nd hand props etc, there is no additional charge for this (entry is free, & it's free to sell) but book your table now if you intend to sell, because availability is short.

All the best!

Below, is the official Press Release for the Southern England Magic Convention.

It does look like a very interesting line up, with a mixture of established acts & some that we have heard of in the magic community, but never seen before! Also the ratio of male to female is an interesting one, it does look like the girls are taking over!!
