A TT that fits...

Postby spooneythegoon » Jun 3rd, '10, 20:20

I think it's time for me to buy my first TT (I use things like bits of coloured napkin normally, but have very little experience with a TT). And I have very small T's :( . The problem is, the junior TT fits the whole of my T perfectly, but I just read that it's only meant to fit to the first knuckle  . Would it be ok just to jam it over my whole T? The first knuckle to the tip of my T is about 3cm if that helps.

In all fairness, Spooney, it's about what feels comfortable for you (and knackers to any other consideration!)

Your sparkling, new TT will never be seen, so - if you buy a cheap piece of tat that works, rejoyce!

Try a couple of differntly sized cheapo tt's, and stick with the one that feels right, and works effectively - job done.

That is all

Hi, if you fancy investing in a quality TT - then checkout the ones made by Fredi Up... various sizes and tones. Got myself one a short while back, and the quality really is excellent

...I won't bother to mention my old Supreme Aluminium TT....the dark beige 'natural skin tone' chipped off during a couple of years use, leaving it bright silver.

It's a cliche I know, but entirely true....I *still* use it...it still works perfectly...and it's never been seen by a spec yet.

Best £4.00 I ever spent on a TT

go to cards4magic.co.uk and buy up a couple of cheapo ones, depends on what you wanna use 'em for too...

oh and get a sanada while you're at it...and the cheap book on TTs as well...

try the chinese one if you've got small digits...

i say dont get the fredi up ones til you're certain and confident with using the others...they're an investment...

oh and there's hard and soft TTs (steady!) so experiment..its only gonna cost you five/six quid either way...

If you can get to a magic shop and try a few on then all the better.

No, for the majority of effects you need the space at the end so it must only fit to your 1st knuckle

The Vernet range is well worth trying and make sure you also try one of the longer TTs as they're just as invisible as a regilar sized one but hold that little bit more.

I have checked the dimensions, and there would still be some space at the end if I jammed it over most of my T I think. But would the freakishly misaligned knuckle attract attention?
Or would there be any other probs?

I had this exact same problem, have a look around for a finger tip. It's what I use as a TT and it fits perfectly.

A Vernet King Size TT is about 2.5 cm at it's base, a Vernet XXL TT is 3 cm at the base so one of these should fit. As Dave said try them on in a magic shop if you can. Vernet TTs are quite nice but still cheap. Hoozah.

is that the opening, or the length of the T? The problem for me is, it'll be quite a while before I can go to a "real" magic shop :( .

Those sizes are at the opening. This sounds incredibly daft, but it's not honest, but if you measure the base of your thumb you can tell a magic dealer the size and they can send one out. Measuring the base of my thumb I can see it's 2cm (I know I'm such a dainty thing, simper, simper  ) So a Vernet medium TT fits myself (as it's just over 2cm).
