Just under a month away from our debut show proper as Devilish Deeds at Hyde Park Unity Day (big free festival in Leeds -
http://www.unityday.freeserve.co.uk/ ), and a strange thing has happened; I've somehow ended up co-ordinating the theatre tent. Eek!
From what I hear from friends who've done this before, it's par for the course for Unity Day to have jobs thrust upon you if you happen to speak to the right people (I was just trying to make sure we had a slot), but I work well under pressure and at least have a nice carte blanche opportunity to slip in a few of our routines in between introducing the other companies and acts, plus I get some good experience and contacts out of the deal.
If any of you are near Leeds on Saturday 7th August and are despairing of something to do, come along! The theatre tent is running from 6pm through to midnight, during which time Little Miss Deedes, myself and some others TBC will be hosting proceedings, as well as performing a few stunts and illusions and presenting our respective alter-egos in Helen Held (The Girl No Man Can Hold) and Xara Picasso Improves Your Life.
If anyone else wants to get involved in whatever capacity (we have plenty of performance slots, either on a raised stage or ground circle area as needs dictate) drop me a line; it's a free festival, so no-one gets paid (including us), but you get a BIG audience. Or just come along and support us, it'd be great to meet you.
We'll be updating our site (
http://www.devilishdeeds.co.uk ) with more precise details as we get them.
