Octopus is off by 30%

the Psychic octupus predicts Spain will win...

But the octupus does not always get it right. Apparently in the 2008 European championship he was 'off by 30%'

and some psychics on here get criticised for being off by 1.

Puzzled :?

In a two horse race how can you be off by 30%?

You're either 100% right or 100% wrong when it comes to the final.

I'm starting to suspect that Paul the Octopus is a fraud.

ok, 30% of its predictions were wrong in the past.
Thas pretty poor for a psychic but everyone thinks its accurate.
Personally I think its a load of tentacles.

and the ink isn't even dry and he's been written off............

He should become a soccer pundit rather than a psychic.

He's give Hansen and Lawrenson a swim for their money.

I do believe its not uncommon for a good sports commentator to get 10 or 20 game predictions in a row.

I'm guessing someone is putting some food or something Octopusses like on the ball they think will win, and this time they just happen to have gotten it wrong.

If a human got it right 6 times in a row about football, we would not be impressed. Hell, I know NOTHING about football, and yet even I could tell you that Germany were going to beat England.

If Spain do win the World Cup then the Germans will probably rename Psychic Paul as 'Calamari'....

Come on guys, it's fairly standard in mentalism to get things a little bit wrong. He's clearly a showman. Or showoctopus, I suppose.

If he gets another one wrong he'll be in a sticky situation.

I have tried the octopus thing with my Budgie. For the last two days I have been teaching him to say Holland and also Spain. This morning he said the word Holland. Is this a sign???
If Spain win I will be left with a budgie that constantly calls out "Holland" for years to come so perhaps it was a bad experiment. I may put a bet on just in case the Bird speaks the truth. Then who knows...Budgie fortune telling, Budgie Tarot, Ouija Budgie, the list is endless.....

If I ate the psychic octopus would I gain it's powers? I might give it a go. What's the worst that could happen?

Oh yes, jail, there is that.
