loved the books by clive barker, took a punt on the dvd cos it was only a couple of quid - and for once (since the first 2 hellraiser films) they've captured the spirit of the book pretty well...

well acted, got the guy from the bbc series of robin hood in it, quite a tasty american woman as the parapsychologist, and a very tall burly scots guy that appears in all kinds of things you'll see on tv (good actor too)...

for once, the special effects weren't cheesy, nothing too over the top, and its the tale of the first book of blood, the one that explains the title itself...

basically, a paranomal type investigator/lecturer and helper find a haunted house in scotland, they find a young psychic type guy to help out...it all goes horribly wrong, there's fakery and other such stuff...then it twists around itself a few times...

wont spoil it in case you fancy a watch...rather enjoyable, and i believe its british made too...and filmed in scotland....7.5/10
