Magicians Wanted

Postby officialmgc » Jul 12th, '10, 17:56

Are you a modern day magician that’s between the age of 16 – 30 and from the UK? MGC will be a team of 4 magicians with a unique twist, performing together at large events.

Whether your skill level is amateur, intermediate or professional we would like to hear from you. Auditions will take place on Friday 23rd July 2010 in Hassocks, East Sussex.

*Please note this is not an entertainments agency. It is a team of 4 magicians to work as an act*

For more information or an application form please visit http://www.mgcofficial.com or email Matt at officialmgc@gmail.com

Thank You

Why is there an age restriction of 30? there are a lot of decent magicians with tons of experience who are over this age.

Surely it would be better to have older expereinced and therefore better skilled magicians than to have younger inexpereinced lower skilled people?

I live in Hassocks.

But I'm eight years too old.

Bummer. :(

As with all such opportunities, we need to have details of fees and expenses payable to the successful applicants.

On reading the blurb, it sounds like someone's trying to put together the magician's equivalent of a boy band.

I'm probably wrong, but it sounds that way. :)

This was also advertised on Magic week, Saturday just gone!

It would be nice though as Mandrake stated regarding fees and expenses, and if there is DEFINATE work from this. Otherwise its a long trek to East Sussex for an audition that could prove fruitless.

I think that Pete might be onto something with the boy band angle

I wouldn't have gone myself but it's the ageist angle that annoyed me and that they appear to not be that interested in the level of skill that the applicants possess.

There are a lot of modern day magicians that are older than 30.

If and when we get the requested details I'll move this to the proper section but until then it'll stay here. Based on the many previous worrying instances, I'm naturally wary of posts which don't give the details and expect interetsed parties to go looking for them. As for the age angle, there may be good reason but, as has been stated many times before, experience and acquired ability is what makes real magic.

The "unique twist" is that there's four of them, all aged 16 - 30...

I think the trick is, they take your money and disappear :D

it's a trap, they're going to drug you and then drop you in the middle of the Jungle Ala Predators or The Most Dangerous Game.
