Amazed by the amount of varied stuff at the sessions. Granted, I'm a relatively talentless newbish hack in comparison to everyone else, but there's things even I can take away. Shame my work will make me miss the first session tomorrow. Will have to wait for the streaming versions and the DVDs for that...

been REALLY impressed with this conference.. you CAN still register for the last day, and of course gain the ability to watch all the sessions on demand once they are uploaded after tomorrow AND get the full DVD set of all sessions.

There was some great stuff today, include an unseen TV show called 'the mind of Dr Frost' starring TA waters that the BBC didn't take (??!)

David Britland gave a great talk on it, and allowed us to watch the pilot episode.. plus point.. all conference attendees will get the episode on the DVD set..

all the coverage and photos can be found here :

We're also hoping to have some extremely nice backstage photos soon as well...

Great Great event...!!

I enjoyed the parts I watched, Helder Guimares, Cyril Takayama, etc...
but will look forward to the dvds for the rest of it.

The discusssion bit didn't work at all for me, which was disappointing as I guess that was one of the main bits.

It appears according to an online social network website (Myplace or Facespace or something like that...) that the DVDs are finally almost most likely completed. There is a chance that after 8 to 27 months of waiting, the organizers will be getting the DVDs within the next fortnight and then they will be sent to the Attendees... Viewers... whatever, shortly thereafter.

They also seem to be mentioning about it being available at magic dealers, so new game: How much on average will the 8 DVD set cost from magic dealers, and will it be higher or lower than the original sign-up costs?

(Sorry for zombifying an ancient (in internet terms) post, felt it best than to make a new one...)

Well I hope the dvds from dealers is more expensive - because during the actual conference I had problems using the chat / q&a parts, so what's the benefit otherwise.

saying that, am looking forward to the dvds arriving, eventually.

Good news!
My EMC DVD set has just arrived! :)

It's 8 DVDs and seem to include everything from the conference, with a clear good menu on each disc.

And ... you get 16 hours of ChatLogs, plus some other PDF files on there, 239 pages of 2 columns.

They are in a cardboard sleeve each, and all 8 in a cardboard box. Each sleeve is marked with details, so it's no more or no less than what you need.

I know it has taken 8 months, but I can imagine it being a huge job and I'm very glad they fulfilled their promises.

As far as I can see, they juggle the sessions a little bit, fitting 9 sessions on 8 DVDs and they also include some of the Q&A from the people around the world.

The 2011 EMC will be 7th, 8th and 9th July in a computer near you!

Mine arrived a few days ago, and they are fantastic.
All the lectures with minor rescheduling are there, although they appear to be as if they were viewed on the stream live, with no re-editing of the performances. Some editing would have been nice for a few where the cameras cut away at a fairly important part, such as in Ponta's demonstration. There were also some changes to the musical portions for copyright reasons, but they aren't major changes.

I haven't had a chance to check the chat logs yet, and I dread having to read them without the accompaniment of the stream "as live". I also cannot remember what I typed, so that should be enlightening.

I still feel as I did at the time that the EMC was very cheaply priced for what it would deliver. It ended up overdelivering then, and still does with the DVDs. I'm glad to have paid and watched live at the time, and even more glad now I have seen how much the DVDs are in the stores...
