Morning!

Postby Vanderbelt » Jul 16th, '10, 08:34

Hello guys and gals, I'll try not to be too longwinded here, don't want to bore you on my very first post!

I've been an amateur mentalist for some 3 years now. Beginning with a (morbid?) love of the occult ever since my teens and a fan of (very simple) card magic, I soon became fascinated when seeing mentalists perform.... that seeming power of the mind and more importantly power over others minds.... oh how it appealed. And here I am!

Like many when I started out I was obsessed with buying gimmicks and props, Lord only knows how much money I've got sat in dusty boxes at the back of the cupboard. I soon went about things the right way however and invested in 13 Steps. Naturally, I've taken a million steps since then. 2010 has seen the first tentative steps into more pulic performances. To date I've done a few birthday and retirement parties as well as a semi-corporate gig. All from word of mouth so far. Also (for some reason) am doing a regional talent show (I won the heat, am in the final).

My style/persona verges on the bizarrist, though I should stress verges. My abilties and powers are credited to a natural psychic talent augmented with pseudo-occult practices and 'training'. That training came in the form of the RAF (no, really) as a 'British Goat Starer' That's a whole topic on its own though.... I'll get round to it, I promise.

Ok, I'm in rambling territory, so I'll get off and get posting....

Thank you, good night, much love.

Thanks guys.

DenmarkKilo, you're absolutely right, I'll refrain from such early morning postings in the future.

Lady of Mystery, thanks very much, you're actually on my shopping list (Well, not you, but Murder in Mind).

There is no wrong way to start. Chances are if you had not purchased all that stuff you would have never gotten around to Corinda. It's all a journey.
