I too, bought it over 10 years ago & also never used it in performance.
It would work nicely if you were sitting or standing at a table.
BUT
It's really a conjuror's toy. Makes other magicians think-- 'Oh what method is he using?'.
Yes it is very simple but in my opinion NOT as effective or showy, as the standard methods.
Take a look at:
The Hindu Thread Trick--Lewis Ganson. Supreme's Teach In Series.24 pages.
Eugene Burger's
Geoffrey Durham's, The Gypsy Thread:'GD Professional Secrets'. pages 29 to 35.
Geoffrey Buckingham's Check which of his books.
Henry Evans Flash Hindu Thread.
or if you want something a bit different try:
Shaun Yee's Red & White version.Lecture Notes 1998
Break a length of white then a length of red. The red is snapped into bits ,balled up and fixed to the white. Blow.
Pull on the white and the red thread is restored ---- in the centre of the white!
That should keep you going.
Don't do what I saw one professional do about 4 years ago.
He was using ultra violet. Did the trick in semi darkness. My wife said,'What on earth is he doing?'
The LX Technician had forgotten to switch on the UV lights!!!
