Wierd new effect BioKinesis -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kdog4KVxB4

Looks great but do we think its magic?

I think its more of a 'strange happening' than a magic effect, never the less think this is one that will be discussed alot.

I saw this on Alakazam this morning for pre-order and did quite like the look of it.

Definitely one for the bizarrists, this could really help scare the bejeezus out of a sitter in a paranormal routine. I'm picturing a candlelit experiment in possession, eyes changing colour instantly the moment possession takes over.

its very clever....but...

its obvious what you are doing surely...i've seen it done, and though it is very, very creative and clever...

i think people will know how it's done...

and i feel it would work better, or rather, look more interesting if it wasnt such a HUGE change...better if you just went up the colour chart a few steps if you see what i mean...so if you have brown eyes like i do - maybe they went up in hue to an orangey tone...

and you don't make a fuss about it...but during the process of "tapping into some kind of mental ability and a physical change happening...just as you reveal a word/thought...then it happens...

I was wondering why this has been released to the magic market and not the film industry?

Good points Iain, a slightly more subtle change might be more 'appropriate'.

I definitely wouldn't draw attention to it, let your audience see it and react and that's it.

They've got a hundred and one ways of doing this already, no need to do it live.

I've wanted something like this for ages, I might have to wait till they have 'reptile eyes' as an option, since lizard people are already a fairly well known idea it would probably have more believers.

I'm not sure if a slight colour change would work as people don't typically pay attention to eye colour and also can often miss even obvious changes if you don't call attention to it.

I tink if the "eyes" could change to name a playing card (ala P&T 3 of clubs routine) that would be fun. But it seems a lot of work for something that anyone who wears contacts will instantly know what you did. It has its place it just isn't for me.

if anyone believed that your eyes changed into a reptiles - and that it was nothing but contact lenses...well...all i'll say is you may as well take full advantage of those people and start a cult...

I imagine it could work out better if they don't all notice. If just one or two notice it and mention it to the others after.

Maybe take somone out of a group of spectators, turn your back on the group and just perform the change for that one person, that way the group wont see the eyes change but will see the reaction of the one person and the one person will tell the group what happened after and of course embelish the story.

I'm actually seriously considering pre-ordering this for use in a spot of paranormal theatre. The setting is a relatively small room, a 20 capacity audience at most, dimly lit by candlelight.

At that moment I cross over into possession by whatever force is taking hold of me I'd produce the 'eye switch' (for want of a better phrase). Judging from the video, the switch back involves a rub of the eyes which, when the possession is over is perfectly accomplished as I 'wake' from possession, rubbing my eyes, reorientating myself with reality.

Jobasha and jhmagic1 make excellent points about not everybody noticing it. The few that do will undoubtedly discuss it with the others after the event which makes the whole effect stronger. Did my eyes actually change or was that in their minds?

If a news reporter blinking can be looked at as evidence of reptile people. I think biokeinisis, if done right, can easily start a cult.
