Postby Lady of Mystery » Jul 30th, '10, 11:26

This is nothing to do with me at all but I spotted this on ebay and thought that some one might be interested, I've got an original set of these books on my shelf and they're lovely books, well worth having.

I have all 4, and will never part with them. :)

They sit next to the full set of Tarbell.

Unfortunatly I know Francis Martineau, so I can't look at the books without feeling a little sick, (he is not a very nice man at all, to be fair I heard he was once and then had some of lifes troubles) I knew him for 10 yrs and I don't have one pleasant memory of him, which is really sad because he is a font of magic knowledge and his contribution to the Rice Silk books (the first three) is amazing.

He did offer me an autographed copy complete with notes and pictures that did not make the final book I looked it over and it really was incredible. but the price he 'offered' them too me was way to steep. Not only did he want a lot of money he wanted me to give him several items from my shop and be able to make purchases at wholesale cost, and probably my first born, if I had children.

I do have a few entertaining stories. He has blue prints for one of the most incredible sword through necks I've ever seen. He wanted me to find a builder for it (and it was quite involved) but he did not want to pay over 1oo dollars to the builder.

Or the time a few of us went to a buffet, and he put food in his pockets for later consumption.
