HELP!!! - The Best Elastic IT for Loops???

Postby dgmagic » Jul 31st, '10, 19:54

Hi All,

I have just wasted 2.5 hours of my life trying to make my own loops using Yigal Mesika's elastic thread!

The method I employed for the actual construction of the loops is the STELTH method some of you may be familiar with, and I have to say I am very impressed with the entire STELTH concept! A fantastic and well thought out bit of thinking which could save us magicians a lot of money and make this particular type of magic more affordable.

The only problem I have is the elastic IT I'm using just doesn't seem to be up to the job! On closer inspection this elastic IT actually seems to be thinner than the (relatively expensive) pre-made Mesika loops that can be bought from a dealer.

I would really appreciate your help with this one as I've got a gig in two weeks and want to do some effects that employ the use of loops.

What is the best (strongest and least visible) elastic IT out there, guys and gals?

Thanks,

dgm

i have used quite a lot of I.T. and what i found for strenth is silkworm elastic. the thread comes in 2 colours black and clear i have forund the clear thread better cos the black is too thick and its not as easily stripped but the clear type is stripped and you just need to run a sharpie over it is also more elasticiky than the mesika to make your loops also the million dollar knot i find is better cos you can make them on the fly with no jig to make

Thank You so Much for that MM! Could you please point me in the right direction to find more information on the Million Dollar Knot. Really like the thought of creating a loop on the fly!
Also, which dealers did you find were best in terms of service and advice for providing the silkworm IT?

Thank You,
Dgm
