The Effect

A regular deck of cards are shown, there are no extra cards, there are no repeating sequences etc. The deck is spread face down, a card is removed and placed to one side. The cards are dealt one at a time onto the table or into a spectators hand. They can stop on any card!! The card they stop on is placed with the other removed card. These two cards are turned face up they are a matching pair ie the 2 of hearts and 2 of diamonds. There are no switches of any kind.

Review

A simple trick that really does what it says on the tin. The card you pull out appears to be random and they do have a free choice of where they say "stop". When the two cards match AND you show all the other cards of the deck the response is excellent.

Couple of things to consider: they can't stop on ANY card but providing they say "stop" within 20 or so life is great (Mark refers to this on the DVD and says he has never had someone want to go to the end of the deck - I've used it a couple of times with no problems). People cannot inspect the deck. However, because of how you present the deck they shouldn't actually want any further inspection.

The routine requires a sequence to be followed but this is very minor memory work.

I love these types of effects - 'knock 'em dead' and 'dead of night' are two of my favourites - and 'Perfect' will be well used.

9/10 - nothing is 'perfect'!
