Yeah, its rubbish - spend your money on a good book. That will spice up your magic much better than a few specially printed cards will.

Thats probably not the response you wanted, but its an honest one!

You are never going to use anywhere near all of them. You are going to select your favourite few cards and take them out and discard the rest.
You are not going to use these few cards anywhere near as often as you envisage.
Still seem like value for money?
If you don't mind paying way over the odds for what you eventually get out of it, they can be good fun, and people do respond to their "out of the ordinary" nature.

I own that deck. It was possibly the worst-value item I've ever bought. If you've already ordered it then I'd advise that you sell it on before you break the seal. The most useful inclusions are the double-backed cards. You can pick those up much more cheaply, and in greater number, at Cards4Magic.

If you've not ordered it and are sure you want it PM me and I'll sell you mine <- that proves I mean what I say :) Also, if you want to buy mine can I just note that it's a fantastic product worth more than the original asking price ;)

Cheers guys, next time im going to ask before I order the item.

well... Ignore that lot.
( except on the cards for magic sugestion.. E is very expensive)
:P

Having gaffed cards around is usefull, because you will then be able to come up with packet effects of your own.

I sugest that you get the packet trick book, and the excelent dvd Blank by Craig Petty.
this will open your eyes as to what is possible with gaffed cards.
there are other books and dvds that deal with gaffed cards, but these two are ones i have.

Honestly, Dale - have you looked through this particular deck? I don't want to be a downer, but the best advise I can offer is to sell it on before breaking the seal.

The real problem with it is that most of the gaffed cards prove that you are using a funny deck. There are cards with crows and devils on them, zips, a fake bullet hole and an 'aged' card that looks and feels new. It is, IMHO, a silly deck that looks great on the video advert but in practical terms is dire.

Thanks, I'm glad to know I haven't completely wasted my money, gives me hope as yet. I just had a quick look through them and have already started developing a small effect I'll video it once I have finished the idea and let you guys know on how I get on :)

Cheers

yes. And i agree that it is a bit naff. But i can see that some of teh cards might be a spring board for a new effect.

I like for example the ace of spades with the skull.
with nothing other than a simple top change and some carefull patter, you have the makings of a spooky routine, where only one person at the table can see why it's called " The Death Card" :)

I like 'The Seer' cards, could be used for a creepy effect too. Could be used for a prediction type of effect.

I don't think there's ever really such a thing as a bad buy in magic. Something just take a little more imagination to come up with a good routine. With some thought, I'm sure that some good routines could be dreamt with those cards.

exactly. I suspect E invested a small fortune in them, and even they wouldnt of done so, without the things having some merit.

It's all about the patter, and presentation..

( I typed that but in my head Gok Wan was saying it.. how odd!)

sugestion..( Via Max Malini!!) plant that card somewhere in the street.

Later, your walking down that street with a friend.. you spy the card....

You play a game, and guess the identity of said card...

you pick it up, and ... your right.

you then, Clean up the card, by magic, using a colour change, or d.l.

The fact that the card feels new, gives you an advantage in the sleight, because it will change smoothly. A genuinly aged card is a bit rough.

or you could do one of the colour change deck routines out there that use a stranger card.. except in this case, you restore an old deck, to brand harry spankers.

Think Aladin... "new decks for old!!"
