When I was four years old and first experianced magic when I saw Copperfield Flying on television, how was I to know this would one day lead to a nostalgic feeling for Sharpie pens...

Please can someone advise:
If I write on a plastic coated pack of cards (eg Piatniks or Bicycle Cards) will the ink from these Sharpies eventually smudge and rub off with shuffling, riffling and wear and tear? I have a pack of cards I use for a trick which has stuff written on it and the ink from Poundshop Felt-Tips has gone all smudgy and started to rub off, and its started to make a real mess of the deck. Is the ink from these Sharpie Pens more permanent or will it also start to rub off after a while?
I don't want it to rub off or smudge.

Hope someone with some knowledge can advise please.

Thank you.

The ink from a sharpie is permanent once dry, and wont smudge or rub off. A normal felt tip isnt permanent, and doesnt take well to playing cards.

I'd rather take some advice on whether it is the best pen before I go out in the rain and look for one.

No worries with the Sharpie on Bikes whatsoever. I've been using the same deck for a Fred/Phil trick for about two years now and the writing is as clear as the day I wrote them, no smudging and no fading.

You didn't already know that Sharpies are the best pen for magicians? I thought that one was pretty common knowledge.

Hello again folks.
Please advise what I ought to do now that the nibs are starting to dry up? Will they revitalise themselves if I put the lid back on and leave them over night - or maybe there is another way of getting them going again - or are they now dead and I have to go out tomorrow and buy some more? I only bought them this afternoon and although I had quite a bit to do with them they seem to be drying up already.
Please advise.

Thank you.

And for those that want something more powerful, maybe they can see what surfaced up on the interwebnets this morning: The Marker of the Beast

http://www.boingboing.net/2010/10/05/th ... he-be.html

Short Version: $6.66 for a customized Sharpie set for a one shot joke.
Almost worth lettering the side of the Sharpie yourself...
